We have been running an On-Prem Oracle Apex instance using Oracle Content Management (OCM) as our document management system.
Oracle has announced an End-Of-Life on OCM by 12/31/25. As we have over 800,000 documents, we need to migrate to another system.
We don't want to invest in building our own as there are limitations, and many options already exist, I'm curious what others have used to integrate seemlessly with APeX for DMS.
Here are our requirements
- Ability to view common document types
- Ability to share files internally/externally
- Rest API for uploading files, creating file structures and deleting files
- Easy File Organization methods (folders now, asset structure, etc)
- Integrations with MS Office 365 (word, excel)
- SSO with Azure - Required
- Direct integration with Exchange 365 for email (currently using MS Graph Rest API for integration)
- Embeddable front end viewer for APeX integration
- World-wide availability
- Mobile App
- Document Retention Policies
- Metadata/comments on files
- Document Content Search (ability to search PDF contents for example)
- Cloud based
We are considering MS Sharepoint, but would like to know some other options people have used with APeX
Currently on Apex 22.2.5, will be updating to 23.2 later this year.
