Replace multiple dots with single dot

MaheshBApr 1 2016 — edited Apr 1 2016

Hi,

I have a column which has data like 1..2....3..4 and various variations.

I want to remove multiple occurrences of . (DOT) and keep single instance only.

Data we get can have any number of dots at any position. I want to replace multiple dots with single one.

Current DataExpected Data
1.2….4.51.2.3.4
1……4…..51.4.5
1.2.3.41.2.3.4
1.2.3.4…….5….6……71.2.3.4.5.6.7

Above are some of the possible combinations.

How can i achieve this in SQL ?

Any inputs would be helpful.

Regards,

Mahesh
