Repl Transport errors 10290 8320

I am receiving a series of 10290 and 8320 messages in my slapd error log:
WARNING<10290> - Repl. Transport - conn=-1 op=-1 msgId=-1 - [S] LDAP connection error rc=-1
ERROR<8320> - Repl. Transport - conn=-1 op=-1 msgId=-1 - [S] End Failed with response: Connection is shutdown (901)

I'm trying to find the meaning.
