removing old APEX schema after upgrade, the missing bit ?

flavioc4 days ago

Hi,

I noticed that after upgrading APEX and performing the suggested DROP USER APEX_XXXXXX CASCADE in order to remove the old schema, there is a package in the SYS schema that becomes invalid, in my case, I have 2 of them left over after a couple of upgrades as I am currently on APEX_240100:

SYS.WWV_DBMS_SQL_APEX_230100
SYS.WWV_DBMS_SQL_APEX_230200

I suppose it is safe to remove these objects as well, although there is no mention of this additional clean-up step in the documentation (unless I overlooked something…).

If my assumption is correct, may be you should add this bit to the documentation.

Thanks
Flavio

According comment from APEX dev team back in 2022, it's safe to remove those

For (2), you can safely drop WWV_DBMS_SQL_APEX_nnnnnn, where nnnnnn is an older APEX version.
