Remote Connection as sysdsba with "wrong" Password

Can anyone explain why I can log in as sysdba from a remote machine with the wrong password as sysdba

>sqlplus "sys/wrongpassword@test as sysdba"

SQL*Plus: Release 12.1.0.1.0 Production on Fri Mar 31 17:25:07 2017

Connected to:

Oracle Database 12c Release 12.1.0.1.0 - 64bit Production

Logging in as system get logon denied:

sqlplus system/wrongpassword@test

SQL*Plus: Release 12.1.0.1.0 Production on Fri Mar 31 17:27:29 2017

ERROR:

ORA-01017: invalid username/password; logon denied
