Remote Connection

867792Jun 9 2011 — edited Jun 10 2011
Hello,

I'm just starting a new development project and am working with Oracle for the first time, I have installed Oracle 10g Express on my test DB server, setup a user called 'Colony' and given full permission (ticked all boxes on user privileges). I have then gone into windows firewall and added an exception for TCP port 8080 (which I found in the 'About Database' - 'SERVER_PORT')

When creating an odbc link direct from the machine it work, when I try and connect from my machine it fails, see pic:

Any ideas? Have I missed something out like the 'Enable remote connections' option in MSSQL?

Thanks & hope I have posted this in the right section,

Ash
