registry entries missing after Windows XE 64 bit install

Phil55Sep 29 2014 — edited Sep 30 2014

Hi Everyone,

I have just installed 64 bit Oracle XE  (zip file called OracleXE112_Win64.zip).  Hardware platform is Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard, 4GB of RAM with lots of available disk space.  The install seemed to go OK but when I tried clicking on the 'Get Started with Oracle...' icon, the page would not display.  After some  investigation, I discovered that most of the relevant registry entries are missing (HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE / SOFTWARE / ORACLE) the most obvious missing entry being ORACLE_HOME!    After that I uninstalled Oracle, re-booted  the server and tried another install with the same result.    If anyone has any ideas about what is wrong here I would be most grateful to know what you think.

regards,             Phil
