"Registary entry disabled" error while installing 10g on Windows

Hi All

I installed 10g Release 2 (10.2) for Microsoft Windows. My system is Windows XP - 2002 SP2.

While installing, I got an error message. - "Registary Entry disabled". But the installation proceeded and I hope sucessful. Can some one tell me

* Why do we need a registary entry?
* What happens if I proceed without registary entry?
* Is there anything I can do now?(ofcourse without re-installing the entire 10g again)?
