Hi Experts,

Recently, I got to hear something about statistics on a GTT. The DBA was telling in some cases they will set some default statistics like NUM_ROWS or BLOCKS for the GTTs.

My doubt - when the table doesn't have any permanent data, what is the need to set some statistics for it ? Will it not confuse the optimizer in runtime.

Is this a documented behavior ?

Please help me understand this. Any pointers ?
