Refering a form element in PL/SQL

Could somebody suggest any resource (thread) for how to refer a form element in PL/SQL block. I am trying to retrieve the form elements value and update the values in to a table ..

I searched for refering to form number inside apex forum but I could not get any relevant results.

Help is appreciated.
