Referencing report (print) page number ... in XE (apex 2.1)

AmigoFeb 2 2007 — edited Feb 7 2007
Is it possible ... anyhow ?

I know the (print) page number can be obtained in browser's header/footer, but
there is few problems with that:

-- there are some reports that you want to have page numbers printed and there are some that you don't wont, so user have to go to browser's properties to "switch it" on/off ...

-- you can only put it on page header/footer (top/bottom of paper), not inside report header/footer or some other place "inside" report ...

-- when I use <br style=page-break-after(or before, same effect):always> in my "Repeating headings on break" option in report - it works fine but first (physical) page is always blank ... so you get page number 1 on blank page and 2.. on "real" first page ...

When we talk about "pagination" for report on "apex" pages - it's really nice and you have variety of options to set it like you want, but when printing is in task - things are opposite, cause it depends a lot of browser's possibilities ...

So, is there any solution for referencing (print) page number?
