Red Hat Directory Server (Version 9.x)

VivaLaVida2019Jun 11 2019 — edited Jun 12 2019

Hi ,

in our current configuration the users are connecting to our database using the TNSNAMES.ORA file. Now we plan to migrate to LDAP, meaning that the authentication of a user that connects to the database should be established through a LDAP. On our LINUX host the Red Hat Directory Server (Version 9.x) is already installed, configured and used by other applications. Since LDAP is rather new to us it's my understanding that we will need to install OID first to be able that the users connect via LDAP (Red Hat Directory Server). Question no. 1: Is my understanding correct?

Question no. 2: is the Red Hat Directory Server compatible with Oracle Enterprise Edition 12.2. or with the OID? Or differently asked: can the Red Hat Directory Server used at all or do we need a different LDAP-Server?

Any help will be appreciated.

!!!! As requested from ORACLE support I finally got to know that Red Hat Directory Server is NOT certified at all - therefore the Red Hat Directory Server can not be used as a certified LDAP solution !!!!

Rgds
