Recovery data from a slave hard disk drive

561607Oct 1 2007 — edited Oct 1 2007
Hello everyone.
I use 10gXE

What happened?, well, i had a server running CentOS 4. One day, it didn't started up anymore. Kernel panic was the error. So i was screwed......
I got another server, put my scsi drive as secondary (1), got another new SCSI drive as primary (0) and installed linux and XE on that one.
What i want to do is to load the data i have in drive 1 trough the oracle installation from drive 0. I dont know if i'm making myself clear.
I tried to point oracle_env.sh (oracle user) to the installation directory i have in drive 1. That was modifying ORACLE_HOME from /usr/lib/oracle/xe/...../server to /mnt/drive1/usr/lib/oracle/xe/ ....../server. but it didn't work.

Any other idea plz?
The main idea is to retrieve data from an oracle installation remaining in a slave disk.

Thanks in advance.

Fernando
