"recovery area: computing obsolete files" waits in Oracle 11g

Hi,

I've high "recovery area: computing obsolete files" wait events in a 11.1.0.7 Oracle database. I've been browsing in Metalink (and Google) but can't find the exact meaning of this wait event. Any ideas?
