Recover ASM on AIX

828474Jan 4 2011 — edited Jan 5 2011
AIX 5.3 (5300-12-01-1016)
Oracle 11.2.0.2.0

The good news is that this is a database test system. So, I didn't kill anything unrecoverable.

The bad news is that I created pvids on an already assembled ASM cluster of two disks. (See Oracle GRID Infrastructure Installation Guide (E17210-05), pp 3-35 and 3-36. Except I missed the last step that said, essentially, "clear the pvid when you're done.")

So I find "How to restore ASM based OCR after complete loss of the CRS diskgroup [ID 1062983.1]." Cool, I can recover this. Except I can't find oracleasm, as needed in steps 3 and 10.

Start looking that up, and find "ASMLib for AIX" ( 907195 ) in this forum: "So you don't need to install any extra ASMLIB software on your AIX machine to use ASM."

Well, yah, I kinda do, now...

Do I have an AIX alternative for "oracleasm createdisk" and "oracleasm scandisks?"

Thanks!
