Reconfigure Exadata x9m-2 to host VMs

We have an Exadata X9M-2 quarter rack configured with two database nodes.

For various reasons, we decided to migrate all the databases to another environment. We now want to re-image this Exadata frame and install Oracle VM (OVM) on it and create VMs, which we could use later to host Oracle databases.

I understand we need to run Oracle Exadata Deployment Assistant (OEDA), and my question is can we just run it from one of the existing database nodes on the frame?
