Real time replication from Production DB in read write mode

Hi All,

OS: RHEL 6

DB: 12cR1

We have a requirement where in which we need to configure a new application. The application will consist of a database which should be replicated from the Production database on Real Time basis.

The database which is to be replicated should also be in in Read Write mode so that users can connect to the same.

One option to have a database in read write mode while real time replication is going that we have considered is use of Golden Gate, please let me know if there are any better option available ?
