Reading connection strings from tnsnames

Hello,
I have installed "plsql developer" on a workstation with no any Oracle components. I'd like plsql developer to reed the connection strings from "tnsnames.ora" so I can easily select the target database from the list in order to connect plsql developer to the database.
Should I install any Oracle components on this station for this purpose?
