I'm getting this same error also.
"oci_connect(): ORA-24315: illegal attribute type"

I'm running PHP 5.3.6 on Windows XP and recently upgraded my PHP install to use the VC9 compiled code.
Now the Oracle OCI connection is no longer working. I see the OCI8 section in phpinfo() saying that OCI is enabled, so assumed it was working, and I get no errors when I start my web server.

Please, can anyone help?
