I started a new role and I am primarily tasked With cleaning up databases that have been neglected for years and have excess roles for end users who use TOAD to access the databases to run queries. I think role based access control RBAC is a tried and true approach but an inexperienced dba thinks RBAC is only for application based access to a backend database.
Since I’m a Teradata and SQL Server veteran, I wanted to reach out to an Oracle forum for input.
Please direct answers as my company doesn‘t allow for novel security approaches and is very conservative.
