RAID structure after SSDs

KeenOnOracleMar 3 2017 — edited Mar 9 2017

Hi Friends

Its been a good practice to use RAID10 when running Oracle Database. It delivers security and performance.

On past, using RAID5 with magnetic disks was expensive due the redo log concept.

But now, if we have SSDs, which are much faster, perhaps we could use RAID5 to gain more storage, not decreasing performance that much.

Do you guys agree? Is it worth to obtain more storage and not think solely on performance to run RAID5 with SSDs?

Tks for sharing knowledge!
