RAC heartbeat interconnect through separate vlan in same switch?

We are building 2 node rac and we have one cisco catalyst switch which includes F.C & GB interface connecting for all. My network guys suggested for heartbeat across nodes, they will be using the same switch and configuring through separate vlan with private ip. Will it works? Any issues?
