RAC DB plus Standalone DB
Hey, I am planning to build a 2 node rac on 10gR2.
Now I get an additional req. for a testsystem. This testsystem shall run on the same plattform as the rac cluster.
1) In generell - is it possible to install an additional RDBMS next to the rac RDBMS ?
2) The testsystem would be Standard Edition One - do I have to license this edition separately ? ( 1x CPU license?)
3) How about the management of this standalone db - the rac is managed by clusterware - would this instance be handled by the oratab.ora ? (SLES system)
4) Any other options ? Can I use the rdbms of the rac to build a new instance, which is not managed by clusterware.
