Question regarding ZFS encryption and CIFS

859850Jun 28 2012 — edited Jun 28 2012
I would like to encrypt a file system we plan to use for confidential document storage, but since the clients are Windows-based, I'm trying to understand if it is then possible for those users to access the files as a CIFS share. I've read the documentation in the ZFS guide that is part of the official documentation, but I couldn't find whether encryption and CIFS sharing are mutually exclusive or not.
Thanks
