Question regarding EPOS and touch screen integration

807580Oct 30 2009 — edited Oct 30 2009
I'm wondering if anyone has any experience in programming for EPOS systems.

I have software which is built in Java and I was wondering how it would work on an EPOS system. How would you deploy an executable jar on an EPOS system? Also, how would you cater for touch screen abilities? My ideal situation would be that it handles touch screen as a mouse handler (with touches represented as mouse clicks) but I doubt it would be that easy.

I know that JavaPOS is one of the main standards in EPOS programming but as I'm not programming for cash tills or credit card transactions I'm guessing there's no need to import JavaPOS libraries.

Although I've tried searching for technical information on EPOS systems all it seems to bring up is commercial sites trying to sell me an EPOS.

Any information regarding this would be greatly appreciated even links to other, perhaps better-suited forums. Thanks.
