Question on impdp is slow

i am running impdp on Solaris 10, Oracle Database 10g Enterprise Edition Release 10.2.0.4.0 - 64bit Production.

the export is faster, but import using impdp is slow. though i started the process with parallel option 8, it does not seem to utilize parallel option as most of the worker processes seems to be waiting. is there a parameter to speed up the index creation parallely.

please let me know, if i need to provide more information.
