question about ps command

$ps -o pid,ppid,pgid,sid,comm
What's the meaning of pid,ppid,pgid,and sid?

then I execute following command,
$ps -o pid,ppid,pgid,sid,comm | cat1
-bash: cat1: command not found

why raise above error,solaris don't support cat1?
