Question about JEP 306

I do notice that JEP 306 location at

https://bugs.openjdk.java.net/browse/JDK-8175916

which has been left as unresolved, is now marked orange

as 'candidate'. Is it possible to inquire as to what this represents,

and if and when this will mean changes in Java SE

around float and double, after the nature of JEP 306?

Is it kindly possible for someone in the know to respond to this, please?
