PXE-E61 on Oracle Linux 6-5

JimboMar 10 2014 — edited Mar 10 2014

Hi,

I am trying to install Oracle Linux 6-5 on a completely wiped server ( new hard disk ). However I am getting the error -

PXE-E61 Media Test Failure check cable

PXE-M0F HP PXE ROM

It then carries on and gives

Non-System Disk or Disk Error

Replace & Strike any key when ready

I have checked the ususal culprit i.e. that being of the Boot Order of the BIOS. My Boot order is -

CD ROM, USB, Hard Drive, Ethernet Controller

So I am not sure why this is a problem ?

I am thinking the Source Disk itself ( I burned this from the OTN web site as DVD-R format )

On the OTN there were 5 options available -

Oracle Linux Release 6 Update source DVD12

Oracle Linux Release 6 Update source DVD 1

Oracle Linux Release 6 Update 5 for x86_64 (64 Bit)

Oracle Linux Release 6 Update 5 UEK Boot ISO imsage for x86_64 ( 64 bit )

Oracle Linux Release 6 Update 5 Boot ISO Image for x86_64 (64 bit)

I had been previously been advised, that option 3 is the one to go for in regards to burning an installation DVD - is that correct ?

Any help greatly appreciated

Jim
