We use 10gR2 RAC on AIX p520 with Standard edition and ASM.
In Standard edition, you have to use ASM ( can't use GPFS ).

Now, we are planning to upgrade from Standard to Enterprise edition.
We are seriously looking at migrating to GPFS.

One of the main reason ( apart from learning ASM and more burden on DBA shoulders ).
Sysadmins are not comfortable with ASM as the lspv command doesn't any pvid for ASM disks. The maintenance becomes very difficult for repathing, SAN moving or cleaning.

Does oracle looking at allowing pvid for ASM disks ?
