Purpose of different field attributes of Lot control of Item

Hi Team,

We are trying to do setups for Shelf-Life Control for Inventory Items. But, can anyone please help me on what is the purpose of below different fields that are available on Item when we try to enable Lot Control:
Retest Interval
Expiration Action interval
Expiration Action
Maturity Days
Hold Days
We already went through few Oracle Docs, but what all inputs I got is only the definition. But, I am not clear with that definitions. I am looking with simple example which will makes me to understand easily

Please note we are using R12.2.3
