Purge Obsolete Workflow Runtime Data Best Practice and Opinions

user1121029Sep 23 2010 — edited Sep 24 2010
Hi guys,

Currently we are running Purge Obsolete Workflow Runtime Data every night for item types with persistence of PERMANENT. This usually takes approximately 15 minutes which is as expected.

Rightly or wrongly we are also running Purge Obsolete Workflow Runtime Data for item types with persistence of TEMP. This is taking days. The last time someone run it we had to terminate it after 4 days... This is obviously not good!

What is the general opinion - do we need to run for both or would you expect to gain satisfactory performace gain by just running it for Persistence type permanent. As you can probably gather I don't have a full appreciation the impact of not running the program for Temp. Please enlighten me!

Thanks in advance.

Mike
