pros and cons of using global temporary tables

Hi Guys GA ,

I have a situation where i need to figure out the performance issues and advantages regarding

the use of global temp tables.

we have lot of tables which have to be created from db2 to oracle.so is it better to avoid the temp tables,if so what

is the alternative for global temp tables.

Want to know what are the advantages and disadvanatges of using GTT's(Global Temp Tables)

Any suggestions will be appreciated.
