Pros and Cons of IFS

I am evaluating using IFS. I have heard alot of Plus points about IFS - but not many bad points about it.
I understand that IFS is very memory hungry. Has anyone could any figures on how much memory is required ?

Does anyone have any other bad points that they've found with the product ?
Any help would be much appreciated
