ProcessTrain renderer for custom skin

I'd like to use the af:processTrain component with my own skin, but I'd like to have this component rendered as with the oracle skin. When used with my skin, it's just a list of links...

Can I somehow register the oracle.ProcessTrainRenderer to be used also with my custom skin or in general: How can I implement custom component renderer in ADF ?
