processes parameter in oracle 11g

Hello All,

I am using Oracle 11g R2.

I have a question concerning processes parameter. Is there any side effect if i increased this parameter from 150 to 250 ? performance ?? 
alter system set processes=250 scope=spfile;
Do i have to increase also the sessions parameters as below? 
ALTER SYSTEM SET sessions=375 SCOPE=SPFILE;
or no need to increase sessons?
