ProC 8.1.7.0.0 Access Violation on Windows NT 4.0 build 1381 sp 6
I have inherrited a C++ Oracle client that uses ProC/C++ to communicate with an Oracle database. It was last compiled in 1999, probably using the ProC pre-compiler shipped with Oracle version 7.3.x.
I recently installed Oracle 8.1.7 on my NT workstation, and tried to re-compile the program. I didn't make any changes to the program itself, and tried to choose ProC flags and options similar to what we use for other Oracle clients we have running on Unix.
2 questions:
a) Is there a document I can look at to see what features are now obsolete and what sort of source changes are required/suggested for the move from 7.3.4 to 8.1.7?
b) When I do try to compile a *.pc module to C++, the ProC application comes up with an access violation.
ProC.exe application error
The instruction at "0x004a3396" referenced memory at "0x00000018". The memory could not be "read"
Where'd I go wrong?
