problms after installing jre 1.4.1_01 without sevice pack 2

Hello

i have installed jre 1.4.1_01 without sevice pack 2 and after that i installed service pack 3.
Now i can neither deinstall or reinstall the vm, The installer always says, that it is allredy there , but can not deinstall it.
If i try to run java the error message is, that vm cant be initialized.
Java is totally broken on my machine.

any suggestions what i can do about that?
