Java HotSpot Virtual Machine

Hi,

I'm really at a loss here. Any time I try to run an application which is java built, I have problems viewing the window contents. Specifically I use Limewire and SSHterm Pro. In the past both these application have performed normally, and I really cannot think as to what could have triggered my problems.

All my swing programs are messed up now too, its the exact same problem. The application loads fine, the window pops up, yet its a blank grey screen, almost like it's not refreshing itself. Occasionally some of the buttons will become visable when the mouse pointer touches them, however if i then minimise or alt-tab to something else, the window goes blank again.

I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the java entries in add/remove programs, however the problem remains. It really feels as though it is failing to refresh itself, as the widgets that sometimes do show are the ones that have an 'mouse over' action associated with them, ie. changes colour when the pointer hits it.

My online banking service also uses some kind of java generated window and the same thing appears here, the buttons are basically invisible... however as soon as I drift the mouse over them they show up.

If anyone has experienced this before or has any idea how to fix it, I'd really appreciate some help. Thanks.
