Problems installing jwsdp-1_5-windows-i586.exe

I was able to install j2sdk-1_4_2_06-windows-i586-p.exe and I want to install the jwsdp on my computer. However, during installation the computer hangs. This seems to be a seperate problem from what i was having before.

I have tried both just executing and running the exe in command line using -console.

Neither works. both times i get this:

Initializing InstallShield Wizard...
Searching for Java(tm) Virtual Machine...
.
Searching for Java 1.4.X by Sun Microsystems
Verifying Java 1.4.X by Sun Microsystems
.....................................................................
......................................................................
......................................................................
......................................................................
....................

at this point my system hangs and nothing happens.

I am running winxp pro.
