Problems installing J2RE 1.4.2_10 on NT4 SP6a

Hi, I hope someone can help. I am trying to rollout 1.4.2_10 to about 15000 workstations. Half of them are XP and this works fine. The other half are NT and when we install 1.4.2_10 it returns an MSI EXEC error or a Dr Watson error right at the end of the install. The install appears to work but the client does not want this message popping up on 10000 workstations.
Has anyone else come across this? I can reproduce it on any NT workstation. Microsoft have looked at it as it was an MSI error and they can reproduce it also so it cant be our build.
Is there a fix for it?
Should we be using the same exe file for XP & NT?
Any offers greatfully accepted.
