Problems creating connections in SQL Developer 19.4 for Mac

I'm running SQL Developer 19.4.0.354 on MacOS 10.14.6.

I can't import connections (it says that I have a duplicate connection - regardless of whether I choose to "rename" or "replace") even though it is a fresh install and there aren't any existing connections.

Also when I try to save a new connection, nothing happens when I hit "Save". The connection works however when it hit Test. It just won't save!!

So I can't create connections from existing export nor can I create connections manually.

Has anyone experienced this?
