Problem with Timezone value when exporting report to File

982678Apr 10 2013 — edited Apr 22 2013
Hi all,

Have a bit of a strange problem, and was wondering if any of you could help me out after having been at it for quite a few days.

We have a database that is storing various columns as timestamp without timezone which is storing a simple timestamp. This is being stored ok in the database and when using this column in a report the data is displayed perfectly well.

However, when we export to an Excel, PDF or any other file, we're noticing that the timestamp seems to have a timezone attached to it, meaning that the data column in the excel file has a different value than the one visible in the report viewer.

The database locale is UTC and obiee users are set to use different timezones.

Does anybody has any idea as to what's causing it? I cannot believe that something so trivial and basic like this can be a bug so I'm more leaning on a misconfiguration issue - in which case, any pointers as to how this can be resolved?

Thanks and Regards,

Matthew
