Problem with smart cards
843851Sep 4 2003 — edited Sep 4 2003Hello,
I am very new to Smart card technology so if I ask any sily question then please excuse me ......
Actually I have to access smart cards on Linux platform and for this purpose we are using ACR30S Smart Card Reader (Serial Port) from Advance Card Corporation and the major problem is all the softwares and drivers available with the CD of package are mainly based on Microsoft platform .. most of the sample programs are written in either VB or VC ... even the drivers are either in 'dll' or 'ocx' format ... there are few drivers for linux also but they are also not responding properly on linux (For linux I am using PC/SC complaint drivers) ....
Smart card reader is responding by one of the application that came with the driver libacs_cmouse.so .. but we are not able to get any information from that operation as all the data that is flying on the screen is in hexadecimal format and still we have no idea that how to write and read data with smart card ....
I also try to use java card technolgy from sun but it only gives information of writing applets for smart cards or converting sample applets for smat card ... but nothing is there for interaction with smart card readers on linux platform ... and thee is nothing about accessing readers/smartcards from the PC.
If any person is having any any idea about all this .. then please help me .. I'll be highly oblised.
Thanking you in advance ...
Regards
Sachin Mohan
