Problem with removing System Data Source from ODBC Admin

After I uninstall 8i (including everything in the Registry), the old Oracle ODBC driver is no longer exist.
When I tried to remove the old Oracle connecting Service from System Data Source from the ODBC Admin Config, I got an error saying Something like."Driver is missing, reinstall Driver..etc."
No other Oracle ORA error msg
Somehow, the registry kept pointing to the old Oracle connecting Service and do not allow me to connect using Oracle 9i.
Are there any tips that someone can help me with ? beside reformatting my OS ?
