Problem with lightwave format

843799Apr 15 2005 — edited Apr 18 2005
Hi, I'm new to the java 3d community. I've recently bought a book on java 3d and i've stumbled onto something i just can't find the answer to. I know the lw3dloader was created back in 1998. I beleive the current lightwave format was 5.0 at that time. Lightwave is currently on version 8, and i can't seem to import a .lws file into a viewer. I know it's an incompatability issue becuase the errors are expected FirstFrame got RenderRange type. Of course this is a simple fix... just remove (RenderRangeType 0) from the .lws file. However there are many more incompatability issues than just that. I've searched and searched for a newer importer, but i can't seem to find one. Does anyone have a solution to this problem?

Thanks,
Chris
