problem with float data type

605079Jun 5 2008 — edited Jun 5 2008
Hi. I am using coldfusion to call a stored procedure. Problem is about the float data type. I have made some checking in coldfusion and I'm sure the data passed is 0.05. But, when the variable with data type float in the stored procedure receives it, it becomes .050000000000000003. I am really counfused as to why there is 3 in the last part. Anybody who knows why? And any solution? I don't wanna use ROUND(.050000000000000003,2). I just wanna make the variable in the procedure to receive it as .5 and not that .050000000000000003. Thanks.
