PROBLEM OPENING PDF FILE

I am facing problems with reading some pdf files that have been uploaded - I am not sure if it has anything to do with jsf but since the UI was built using JSF I thought I might as well post my problem here.

I am able to upload the pdf file fine. However when I open the file from the browser to view it - I get the following error message:

There was an error opening this document. There was a problem reading this document(14).

I am able to open the original file prior to upload fine but upon upload and download to read it fails.

Can someone please help me with this problem
