Problem in connecting to MS Access DB using SQL Developer

AnkitVJun 12 2014 — edited Sep 4 2014

Hi All

I have Win 7 64 Bit..... Sql Developer 4.0.1.14..... I have 32 bit MS Office installation.

I am trying to connect to *mdb file via sql developer, by specifying mdb file name in "Access" tab in new connection window, but its failing with Error "[Microsoft] [ODBC Driver Manager] data source name not found and no default driver specified".

C:\Windows\SysWOW64\odbcad32.exe  does have Access driver in User and System DSN tab.   I think being 64 bit machine, and 64 bit Sql Developer, this 64 bit version of ODBC must be getting used here. Please correct me if I am wrong.  ?????

C:\Windows\System32\odbcad32.exe    does NOT have Access Driver. Also I am not able to Add it as Add option in 32 bit ODBC window is not giving me Access driver option.

Request you to please let me know how to resolve this and connect successfully to MS Access DB (mdb) ?    This post shows that the operation that I am trying is not possible with given SQL Developer version, is it true ?

Thanks in Advance.
