Pro*C and Other C++ Compilers
384307Dec 24 2002 — edited Jan 8 2003I seem to recall that at one time there were
Borland C++ libraries included in the
Pro*C installation directory.
This is no longer the case. The other
Windows C++ compiler/linker seems to be the
only choice left.
Suppose I am the lead developer of a Borland
C++ Builder project that uses the Native
Oracle BDE (Borland Database Engine) drivers
to talk to Oracle RDBMS for most of the time
but there is this one module whose completion
and execution time would be tremendously
improved if Pro*C were to be used instead
of the BDE.
Is Oracle doing anything about Borland
C++ Builder (bcc32.exe and ilink32.exe)
as viable compiler/linker for Pro*C output or
is all this falling on deaf ears?
It seems that a great number of people are interested
in getting Pro*C output to compile in BCB5.
